The West Asia Second Regional Technical Forum for the PU foam manufacturers on sustainable alternatives & round-table meeting on the regional technical and policy challenges for the foam sector; 20-21 November 2016 – Fairmont Hotel Dubai, UAE
Under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, The Compliance Assistance Programme of the United Nations Environment in the West Asia (CAP/UNEP/ ROWA) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
The Forum brought together regulators, foam insulation manufacturers, contractors, global industry experts and regional stakeholder to discuss key policy and technological challenges and advancement in this important sector.
“Challenges to meet sustainable & green projects requirements have brought the focus to use environment friendly construction products. With best thermal properties the spray foam insulation is leading roofing system being used on sustainable projects”
With the previously available grades of PU foam it was not
feasible to achieve environment properties that limit the ODP (Ozone depleting
potential) to zero, less than 5 GWP (Global warning potential) along with thermal
properties as good as 0.021W/m.k.
Thanks to our associated partners from the industry who
worked hard to develop the system with sustainable blowing agent & enabled
us to use it on landmark project in AUE. We feel delighted initiator as the
very first commercial application of this system done by us un this part of the
world after US & Japan.
In addition to possessing favourable environmental
properties, the product has undergone testing by a third-party lab to verify
conformity with all other physical properties. We have successfully completed
the project and are currently engaged in additional endeavours, as our journey
continues.
